AI Won't Wait for Philosophy

Contributed talk at the 27th Annual UNC Charlotte Cybersecurity Symposium (7 October 2026). The public AI conversation has become an AGI conversation whose loudest call is for philosophers, while deployed systems already act. Takes the candidates for the job in turn, developers, business, politics, philosophy, and shows that none meets the urgency, because there are no universally agreed morals or values. Proposes behavioral psychology, which assumes nothing about the inside of the system, works from a local definition of acceptable behavior at the speed of that behavior, paired with one structural rule: no agent ever holds the key to the model.
